Over the last couple classes, we've discussed many of the costs associated with owning a home. We've discussed how owning a home is different from renting, and we know a mortgage for a house can be good debt if the house appreciates in value. We've also learned about the different types of loans available when buying a home (Example - 30 year fixed loan). Among many of the other topics we've discussed, is planning for a down payment.

I learned that it is easier to start off renting if you're just getting out of college, and that it's better to buy a house when you're more financially stable or married after being out of college and paying of your loans.

So far in this unit, I've learned that you should rent a home, apartment, etc. before you buy a house. It saves you money so that when you finish college you can get a job, pay your loans, and save up for a house.
